Why Jeuveau Is Better Than Botox

The honest version of this headline needs a qualifier: better at what. On how well it works, Jeuveau and Botox are equivalent, and the head-to-head trial is clear about that. Where Jeuveau is genuinely better is what you pay across a year of treatments, and for a product you buy three or four times annually that is not a small thing. Here is the case, including the parts that cut the other way.

Better at what, exactly

If someone tells you Jeuveau is stronger, lasts longer or places more precisely than Botox, they are ahead of the evidence. The largest head-to-head trial ever run on frown lines found the two statistically equivalent, and we walk through that data properly in what the head-to-head trial actually showed.

So the case for Jeuveau is not a clinical one. It is an economic one, and economics is a perfectly good reason to choose a medical product when the clinical outcome is a tie. You are buying the same result for less money from a company that is working harder for your business because it is the challenger.

  • Better on price: Nationally Jeuveau runs $8 to $16 a unit against $10 to $20 for Botox, a 20 to 30 percent gap for an equivalent result.
  • Better on rewards: Evolus Rewards takes $40 off every 90 days, which is roughly how often you rebook anyway. Allē makes you accumulate points before anything comes off.
  • Equivalent on results: 87.2 percent versus 82.8 percent responders, with a confidence interval that crosses zero. A tie, not a win.
  • Equivalent on duration: Three to four months for both. No credible data shows otherwise.
  • Behind on approvals: Botox is approved for frown lines, forehead and crow's feet. Jeuveau is approved for frown lines only.

The money case over a year

One treatment is where the price gap looks trivial. A year is where it shows up. Most people treating frown lines run 20 to 25 units three or four times a year, so whatever the per-unit difference is, you are paying it repeatedly.

Here is the part most clinics will not tell you: at Raw Glo both products cost the same, $11 a unit. We are not steering you toward a margin, because there isn't one. So at our prices the saving does not come from the sticker. It comes from Evolus Rewards, which takes $40 off every 90 days and is free to join.

Against a clinic charging $14 a unit for Botox, which is well within the normal Wisconsin range, the annual gap is around $460 for the same treatment schedule.

Cost of a year of frown line treatment, 25 units, four times a year
Jeuveau at Raw Glo $940 Botox at Raw Glo $1,100 Botox at $14/unit $1,400

Jeuveau figure is $11 per unit less four Evolus Rewards redemptions of $40. Unit counts vary by person, so treat this as the shape of the difference rather than a quote.

The rewards programmes are not equivalent

This is the most underrated difference between the two brands and it has nothing to do with the drug. Evolus Rewards gives you an instant $40 off a Jeuveau treatment every 90 days. No points to accumulate, no threshold to reach, no tier to maintain. More than a million people have enrolled.

Allē, the Allergan programme, works on points. You earn on treatments and redeem once you have banked enough, with a free 50-unit vial of Botox sitting at 1,200 points. If you spend heavily across the Allergan range, including filler, that can add up to real value. If tox is the only thing you buy, you wait a long time between rewards.

Who should actually switch, and who should not

A fair argument has to include the cases it loses. Here is where we would and would not move someone over.

Switching, case by case
If this is you Our honest answer
You only treat your elevens Switch. This is the one area Jeuveau is fully FDA approved for, so the evidence is directly on point and you save on every visit.
Budget is the deciding factor Switch. Same outcome, lower annual cost, and the rewards apply from the first appointment.
You treat forehead and crow's feet too Your call. Both work. Botox holds on-label approval for those areas and Jeuveau does not, so if staying on-label matters, stay.
Botox has worked beautifully for years Do not switch. You have a result you like and a dose that is dialled in. Saving $40 is not worth restarting that.
You have had patchy results on Botox Worth trying. Individual response varies between formulations and some people simply do better on one.
Duration is your single biggest frustration Neither. Ask us about Daxxify instead and expect to pay more for it.

Getting started with Jeuveau at Raw Glo

We charge $11 a unit and tell you the count before anything is injected. First appointments are deliberately conservative, because adding a few units at a two-week check is easy and taking them away is not possible.

If you are coming from Botox, bring your rough unit count and tell us whether you were happy with it, and we will match or adjust rather than starting from scratch. If you have never had tox at all, we will map how your muscles actually pull before dosing, and we will say so if we think you do not need it yet.

See pricing and book on the Jeuveau page. If you want the underlying trial data first, read Jeuveau vs Botox: what the head-to-head trial actually showed. And if it turns out volume rather than movement is what is bothering you, dermal filler is the honest answer instead.

Frequently asked questions

Is it fair to say Jeuveau is better than Botox?

On price and rewards, yes, clearly. On how well it works, no, the two are equivalent and the head-to-head trial says so. We would rather give you that distinction than a slogan, because if you pick Jeuveau expecting a stronger result you will be disappointed for no reason.

If both cost $11 at Raw Glo, why would I pick Jeuveau?

Evolus Rewards. It takes $40 off every 90 days with no points to accumulate, which is about $160 a year on a normal treatment schedule. That is the whole difference at our prices, and we would rather be straight about it than pretend there is a clinical reason.

Will switching mean starting over with dosing?

No. Jeuveau and Botox dose roughly one to one, so we can carry across what was working. Bring your previous unit count if you know it and we will match it, then adjust at your two-week check if anything needs refining.

Is Jeuveau newer and therefore less proven?

It is newer to the US market, approved in 2019 against 2002 for Botox cosmetic use. It is not unproven: it went through full FDA review and the largest head-to-head phase III trial in the category. Botox has far more years of data behind it, which is a reasonable thing to value.

Does Jeuveau hurt more or less?

No meaningful difference. Both are fine needles, a few seconds per injection, no numbing needed for most people. Discomfort has more to do with the area treated and your own sensitivity than with which product is in the syringe.

Can I use Evolus Rewards and a Raw Glo promotion together?

Usually yes, since the rewards come from Evolus rather than from us. Ask at booking and we will confirm what stacks, rather than you finding out at the till.

What if I try Jeuveau and prefer Botox?

Then we switch you back at your next appointment. There is no washout period and nothing to undo. Trying it costs you one treatment cycle at most, which is a low-risk experiment.
